TECHNOLOGY   Heat treatments

The operational performances of T6 range tubes are guaranteed by the final heat treatment, the aim of which is to confer maximum resistance to breakage, yielding (plastic yielding), shock and especially to repeated stress (fatigue strength).

Light alloy heat treatments are based on altering the solid-state solubility of certain constituents, predominantly intermetallic compounds, such as CuAl2 or Mg2Si in the aluminium, as a function of temperature.
The treatment process to which Dedacciai tubes are subjected involves a solubilisation phase, consisting of a heating step, in special furnaces, to a temperature of between 450° and 460°C followed by rapid cooling at a rate of 1°C per second, and an ageing step consisting of heat treatment at 95°C for 8 hours and 165°C for 16 hours.
All the above processes are in full compliance with the most rigorous international standards currently in force.
