TECHNOLOGY   Hydroforming

Hydroforming is the plastic deformation of aluminium alloy.
This means that, using this type of press, we can obtain the most varied shapes from tubes, and in particular, thanks to the collaboration with our technical department, we can customise tube sections according to each clients need.
Indeed, prior to processing, preformed tubing undergoes the first treatment in the T0 state, i.e. at the time it offers maximum ductility.
The tube is inserted into a steel mould, which will give the metal section the form desired at the end of the process.

The press guarantees the seal at very high operating pressures, reaching 1000 bar, thanks to a restraining force capable of sustaining 400 tons.
Once the two half-moulds form the mould, they are tightened against one another and a high pressure liquid, consisting of 95% aqueous solution and the remainder made up of emulsifier fluid, injected into the tube, allowing dissipation of the heat formed and preventing the formation of any gas bubbles.
After a few moments, the hydroforming operation is complete and the tube is cleaned and sent for tempering (heat hardening treatment).
